ArborMetrics Solutions is seeking 1 utility vegetation planner in Alberta to work on the Fortis AB system.

As a Utility Vegetation Planner with ArborMetrics; you will be in the field most of your day with a hands-on approach to tree and vegetation management.

You will work with internal and external customers to inspect vegetation conditions in the powerline ROW, notify stakeholders and prescribe work to be executed by brushing contractors.


Job Duties

  • ROW and vegetation inspection.
  • Stakeholder engagement and notification.
  • Maintenance prescription.
  • Data entry, management, GIS mapping.
  • Quality Control.
  • Maintain safety and industry compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Understanding of utility distribution and/or transmission systems.
  • Minimum 1 year experience + education will be considered.
  • Arborist certification or Forestry diploma preferred.
  • Strong tree identification skills.
  • Valid provincial driver's license.
  • Standard First Aid prior to start.
  • Work with company guidelines for safety and compliance.
  • Need to have willingness to grow and progress with the company.
  • Forestry or Utility background is preferred.
  • UTT is an asset.
  • Please be advised that our clients are now requiring that employees are either (1) double vaccinated (proof required), or (2) if not double vaccinated, provide proof of a negative test every 72 hours.

Additional Information

  • Starting wage is $25.00/hr +, dependent on education and experience.
  • Yearround employment with ArborMetrics. If work on Fortis is reduced, then every effort is made to move successful staff to another project that is a good fit personally and professionally.
  • Occasional overtime requested.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
