Role - The Athletic Centre Membership Services
The Membership Services staff are responsible for the overall customer service and

communication with the members of the Athletic Centre, fitness instructors and visitors to The

Rotation Room.

The Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club (KWSC) operates The Athletic Centre in RIM Park/Manulife

Sportsplex, Waterloo. It is primarily a place for fitness classes and equipment for figure skaters.

However, as a community minded organization, the Club also offers use of the weight room to

members of the local community. The Membership Services staff provide support to skaters and

community members while ensuring a positive experience at the Centre.


Primary responsibilities:
customer service, membership sales, communication with skaters and

community members, as well as some office administration.


Job duties:
-
Establish positive relationships with members and fitness instructors through effective

communication in writing, by telephone and in person

• Ensure gym space and equipment is safe, tidy and clean at all times
• Perform administrative duties to process memberships, book room rentals, and

gather/organize data on gym usage

• Provide occasional administrative support to other staff and volunteers on the KWSC team

Education/Experience Requirements:
-
Commitment to excellence in customer service

• Selfstarter with a positive disposition and helpful attitude
• Strong relationship, administration and problemsolving skills
• Demonstrated computer efficiency including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of skating (hockey and/or figure skating) an asset
• First Aid training is an asset***
