Job Description:


About the role:


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in the management of the reinsurance pricing process resulting in timely offers that are consistent with established pricing guidelines.
  • Design and build Axis pricing models to support an efficient and accurate reinsurance pricing function.
  • Provide strong technical expertise in the development of pricing assumptions based on rigorous analysis of available data.
  • Assist in the development of product strategies and pricing bases for entry to new markets/new products.
  • Support the business development of the company by building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Conduct analysis and research to ensure and enhance understanding of the competitive market environment.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
  • You will be expected to use your technical skills to assist and help develop reinsurance solutions for the Canadian market. You have a high level of empathy, strong listening skills and are interested in dealing with people regularly.
  • You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas effectively. You should be capable of working in an international and culturally diverse environment. You must be someone who can work within a team, but also enjoys a high degree of autonomy.

Qualifications:


About you:


  • University degree in mathematics/actuarial science, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of Canadian Life (re)insurance experience, including coop/internship.
  • Progression towards ASA or FSA/FCIA designations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel/Word.
  • Experience with AXIS actuarial software is an asset.
  • Programming experience (e.g. R, Python) is an asset.
