Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, Sun Life Canada, the Manager, Corporate Communications, Sun Life Canada is responsible for delivering integrated communications programs to support strategic initiatives and transformation happening across our business.

Situated as part of the Office of the President, Communications Team, the role will support initiatives impacting the span of Sun Life's largest business.

This results-oriented communications professional will develop creative, integrated communication plans and written materials.

We are looking for a big thinker A creative and driven communications professional who can challenge traditional thinking and successfully execute when it comes to communicating, advancing and promoting Sun Life Canada's priorities which include:

This role will also support activities for Sun Life Canada's Office of the President, including the quarterly results communications process.

What will you do?

Provide strategic communications counsel and develop integrated communications strategies and materials that meet business priorities and align with Sun Life's transformation strategies
Oversee, write and edit content for the intranet and other employee communications channels.
Leverage new and existing communications channels, including social media, to engage employees.
Support change management communications including organizational changes and announcements.
Provide leaders with communications support and counsel for business priorities by developing briefing materials, presentations, executive notes, media materials, web articles and speaking remarks for projects and events (i.e. Town Halls).
Identify key media opportunities and generate proactive and timely pitching ideas.
Develop and sustain metrics for monitoring and continuous improvement of communications

What do you need to succeed?

Experience with organizational change communication and employee engagement
Indepth communication, writing, editing and project management skills
Indepth consulting skills with senior executives including the ability to influence and problem solve
Experience with media pitching and news judgement
Ability to think and act strategically
Ability to work independently and to exercise judgement
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a high volume environment

What will be nice to have?

University degree or college diploma in journalism, communications or public relations
Experience in employee/change communications
58 years experience working in Communications or a related field
Experience in graphic design an asset
