    Hours: Various Hours/Week; 8 & 12 Hour Shifts – Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends
    Status: Casual

    Job Summary:

    The UHN Halo Telemonitor Program is dedicated to remotely monitoring and ensuring the safety of patients. As a member of the Telemonitoring team, the Tele-Monitor Observation Technician provides continuous observation & monitoring to patients who are identified as a safety risk.

    The principal responsibilities include: provides continuous remote observation to an identified group of patients; sets up software & equipment for remote observation; receives report and documents relevant patient activity as necessary; re-directs the patient via audio device as necessary; works with & seeks assistance from inter-disciplinary team as required; identifies & reports all safety concerns; and performs cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with job classification as assigned or requested.

    As a member of the team, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to patients through remote communication channels. This position requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.     Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients remotely from our central command center using advanced telemonitoring technology to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Communicate with patients through remote channels, offering reassurance, support, and assistance as required.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient observations and interactions.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications and other technology platforms efficiently.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to address patient needs and concerns promptly.
  • Effectively manage conflicts and navigate challenging situations that may arise during remote patient monitoring.
  • Exhibit keen observation skills and meticulous attention to detail in identifying changes in patient behavior or condition.
  • Provide empathy, understanding, and effective communication to patients in a remote setting.
  • Collaborate closely with the healthcare team, escalating critical situations for prompt response and resolution.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in working different shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the organization's needs.
  • Qualifications

    Education

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Possession of a medical certificate or any relevant medical education is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Work Experience

  • Previous experience in customer service, front-facing roles, or administrative positions is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to fast-paced environments with high-pressure situations would be advantageous.
  • Prior healthcare experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Hard Skills

  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications effectively.
  • Strong technological aptitude with the ability to adapt to different software platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the English language, both in reading and writing.
