    Job Description

    We are seeking a team-orientated and highly skilled Neurosurgeon to provide services in Regina, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will join us as an independent fee-for-service practitioner in a community based Neurosurgery practice.

    The Regina Neurosurgery Division includes specialists with diverse sub-specialty interests.

    Regina offers opportunities for medical professionals to be part of a dynamic health care team providing superior patient care including inpatient and outpatient care of neurosurgery patients.


    Neurosurgery services are based out of the Regina General Hospital, including cases managed through the Trauma Program. The Regina General Hospital has representation from all major surgical specialties, except transplant.

    Neurosurgery OR allocation is based on patient needs. Call duties are distributed equally between the members of the Division of Neurosurgery as part of an SECP (Specialist Emergency Coverage Program)

    Tier 1 rota.


    Call is 1:
    4 to 1:5 depending on holiday requests.

    The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence.

    The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training.

    The has distributed training sites in Saskatoon and Regina.

    Job Qualifications

    The candidate will hold certification from the in Neurosurgery. Candidates will be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the to practice Neurosurgery in Saskatchewan.

    This individual will be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.


    Preference would be given to candidates with fellowship training in Spinal Neurosurgery. Additional training in Functional Neurosurgery would also be an asset.

    In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

    The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Surgery and Division of Neurosurgery in the Regina Area and will be appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan.
