As the General Manager (GM) you will provide leadership to your team and outstanding customer service to your clients, while managing a best-in-class food hall food hall property in Toronto, ON.

You are responsible for all aspects of client and tenant satisfaction at this iconic culinary destination.

Reporting to the Vice President, Retail Portfolio Management, you will also be responsible for creating a hub for locals, visitors, and residents to dine & play, preparing budgets and financial reports, managing tenant improvements TI and/or capital improvement projects, and developing your staff to create a bespoke culinary experience.

You will be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) to both building owners and tenants to ensure an ongoing, successful relationship.

Responsibilities:


  • Champion the JLL culture of communication, collaboration and trust while performing the following duties:
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage quality and guest service
  • Providing leadership and direction to a team comprised of management and operations staff
  • Being an active contributor of the food hall's marketing and Experience Management (XM) team
  • Creating and maintaining meaningful partnerships with groups around the city such as, nonprofits, culinary organizations, breweries, arts & music groups, etc. and integrating them into Waterwork's programming
  • Providing uptodate reports for ownership of the development regarding the leasing, marketing, and overall operations of the development
  • Maintaining compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal laws
  • Hosting daily preopening briefings
  • Capital Project Management work with consultants and / or project management team to ensure on time and on budget completion of scheduled projects
  • Proactive management of client, tenant and service provider relationship and proactive contract management
  • Focusing on the client experience by providing innovative solutions to the client and tenants
  • Operations and capital budgeting, reporting, and ensuring leases are properly managed to ensure maximum financial return and preservation of the assets
  • Proactively support culture of environmental responsibility and social responsibility, which includes active energy management
  • Maximize the profitability of Waterworks including financial assessment of tenants

Recruiting/Growth:


  • Partner with new leasing professionals to adopt culture, strategy, methodologies, and best practices
  • Champion of diversity & inclusion

Mentor, train, and develop skills:


  • Lead, develop, coach/mentor career growth and mobility, culture building initiatives to drive growth of a highperformance culture and team
  • Develop, grow, and oversee team of leasing professionals training, developing, and coaching immediate subordinates
- as the business line expands across Canada

  • Lead and ensure compliance with JLL Canada's training protocols and take all reasonable steps to make sure your direct managers are doing the same

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree required and advanced degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of commercial property management experience
  • Must have strong financial acumen and experience preparing budgets, CAM reconciliations, and other types of related financial reports
  • Strong communication and presentation skill required, as well as a proven track record in business development
  • Familiarity with building systems, lease negotiation, documentation, and administration
  • Must have at least three (3) years of experience managing multiple property management teams and Clients
  • Experience using a property management accounting platform, such as Yardi, Kardin or MRI is required
  • A relationship builder
  • Both verbal and written communication skills are vital, and of course you'll be good at establishing relationships with all levels of the organization & external clients.
