Responsibilities

  • Analyze and forecast project costs; as well as develop, prepare and collect schedule and cost data. Generate all required project status report for both the customer and internal management, including the overall project Dashboard, project performance report (Earned Value, SPI, CPI, etc.) and recommend corrective actions for both Engineering Services and Capital cost.
  • Assist in EPC project setup for both project management system and accounting system, ensuring all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied
  • Assist setting up project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and allocating budgets at appropriate WBS levels for project tasks
  • Ensure all project tasks are identified and resource needs properly estimated on capital projects. Prepare or assist in the development and implementation of project baseline budgets and schedules
  • Assist in monitoring project performance including Engineering Services and Capital cost, ensure that Wood's project control system is properly implemented
  • Review project scope change and change order requests for proper justification, schedule impacts, and adequate budget and funding
  • Assist with the implementation of the change management procedures ensuring compliance with contract conditions and Wood's standard.
  • Ensure relevant cost management procedures and reporting requirements are incorporated where appropriate on invitations to tender
  • Review contractor, vendor, and consultant invoices for capital projects
  • Worki in coordination with procurement and contract administrators on purchase order and contract budgets, progress payments, valuations of contract variations and compensation events as well as contract financial closeout, and
  • Support project data analysis work and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree in engineering, quantity surveying, or a recognized business program
  • At least 2 years of experience in project engineering environment (any discipline), or in a construction management environment
  • Project Services or cost control experience in an EPCM environment on light to heavy industrial projects will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of engineering controls, cost control, estimating, scheduling and project reporting
  • Previous experience using P6 will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of procurement/contracts, construction management and document control is an asset
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience using Convero or equivalent database system would be considered an asset
  • Welldeveloped oral and written interpersonal communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
