Post office Clerk

Post Office Clerk duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting customers with postal services (including mailing letters/parcels, package pick-ups, etc.)

Ability to lift heavy parcels up to 50lbs and climb a ladder

To provide prompt and superior customer service

Stay current with postal regulations, price increases and new services

Perform office tasks (replenish office supplies, distribute mail, custodial duties, etc.) month end/ordering of supplies

Cash handling including the selling of money orders, stamps and registered mail/parcel service.

Maintain and organize postal service area and present proper public according to policy-clean appearance, approved uniform etc.

Be able to perform multiple functions simultaneously and prioritize tasks

Answering the phone, faxing/photocopying, misc. office jobs


Requirements:

Superior customer service skills

Ability to work well with others

Work independently and with a team

Strong organizational and communication skills

Comfortable standing on feet for most of the shift and able to lift heavy items up to 50lbs

Comfortable using computers

Willingness to be flexible with schedule

Cross-train to other departments within the store i.e., lottery, dry cleaning, customer service, pharmacy assistant

Previous retail/customer service experience is preferred

Previous Canada Post Experience preferred
