Temporary Instructor, Automotive Service Technician Program - Edmonton

Job summary

The NAIT Automotive Service Technician Program is recruiting for a continuous instructor who is an energetic leader, committed to student success, and has outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
• Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
• Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
• Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
• Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
• Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success
• Respond to student issues
• Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
• Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
• Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
• Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021+, NAIT's Strategic Plan and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute
• Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
• Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Completion of Automotive Service Technician Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red Seal
• Minimum 8 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket
• Teaching experience an asset
