Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance, this position is responsible for performing various functions within the QA Department including auditing, writing procedures, monitoring, verification, validation of the HACCP System and BRC system, data entry and design of forms and interfaces.
Key Accountabilities:
- Understands all QA documents such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Plans, CCPs (Critical Control Points), prerequisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures and complete corresponding records, to ensure procedures and records are followed and completed appropriately, assists in the annual reassessment and review of the HACCP plan.
- Performs Quality Assurance checks such as CCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) monitoring, prerequisite checks, conformity of finished products throughout the manufacturing process, performs quality audits on various cuts of meat, records and analyses test results and trends, supports production with data and feedback to determine root cause and correct actions
- Covers Microbiology Lab and Chemistry lab in the absence of microbiology technician.
- Trains all personnel at the Plant (i.e. production, quality, shipping, maintenance, etc.) on quality requirements
- Performs assigned project work to solve problems or improve quality, food safety or productivity
- Other related duties
Key Accountabilities:
- College diploma in lab related field (Lab Science Technology, Biotechnology, etc.)
- Or, University degree in a related science or nonscience degree with a strong minor in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or Microbiology Or 5 or more years' experience in Food Industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Quality regulatory requirements and systems
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Time management skills & multitasking ability
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
- Able to work flexible hours
