    Description

    The person in this role is responsible for working as part of Automation Group Canada. They will support the build, integration and support of custom automation solutions within Canada and abroad.

    Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working with the Process, Manufacturing and Engineering Teams
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Assembly of electrical circuits as per approved design including panel building and field wiring
  • Onsite installation of automated solutions
  • Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic circuits
  • Work in close conjunction with controls technicians during setup and development of PLC, robots and vision systems
  • Operational problem solving and seeking out continuous improvements to the process
  • Participating in team meetings to review and resolve quality, service, operations, facilities, human resources and health and safety issues, when required
  • Assist in the training and development of new members of operations
  • Participate in 5 "S" activities
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Our requirements:

  • A Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A or 309A) and relevant industrial experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in Canada is preferred
  • Proficiency in understanding electrical/pneumatic schematic drawings
  • Understanding of Canadian electrical code, components, and wire sizing etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the basic and advanced controls' components like PLC, panels and field I/O modules, VFD's, servo systems, etc.
  • Understanding of safety circuits and requirements including networked safety
  • Familiar with controls nets networks (Ethernet/IP, Ether Cat, I/O link, ASI)
  • Knowledge of Electrical design would be an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must demonstrate patience and consistent attention to detail
  • Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions and follow through to ensure completion
