    Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Engineer to architect, design, and develop state-of-the-art vision capabilities for our global fleet of robots. You will join a passionate, diverse team focused on delivering scalable, robust, high-performance sensing systems that power next-generation automation.

    In this role, you'll collaborate with research scientists, applied scientists, data scientists, and hardware engineers to prototype and validate vision features—both in simulation and on live robotic platforms—ensuring Amazon continues to innovate in robotic perception and autonomy.

    About the role: SW Engineer II, Sensing Application Team

    Architect, design, and implement vision systems for multiple robotic platforms, influencing the long-term strategy and roadmap. You'll work cross-functionally with science and operations teams to iterate rapidly on prototypes and incorporate feedback from real-world deployments.

    Maintain high standards by participating in design reviews, building for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating continuous improvement mechanisms. Mentor fellow engineers and help drive our collective success in delivering reliable vision sensing.

    Requirements / Skills

    • 3+ years of professional software development experience
    • 2+ years of system design or architecture experience (reliability, scaling)
    • Proficiency in at least one programming language
    • Full SDLC experience: coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, operations
    • Experience designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence
