D U T I E S
The Resource and Resolution Advisor (RRA) is the first point of contact for individuals with concerns
related to respectful workplace, discrimination and harassment and sexual violence. The RRA
coordinates appropriate responses including referrals, resources, medical care, mental health care and
other support. The RRA provides advice regarding College and external support, differences between
formal and informal complaints, conflict resolution processes, and advises individuals on the general
process of how complaints under RRC Polytech's Respectful Workplace and Learning Environment
policy are handled. The RRA implements the complaints process related to respectful workplace,
discrimination and harassment, and sexual violence including initiating and leading the investigation and
resolution processes related to respectful workplace, discrimination and harassment. The RRA is
responsible for leading the education and communication efforts related to respectful workplace,
discrimination and harassment, and sexual violence, including the complaint processes, resolution
processes, bystander responsibilities and consent for members of the RRC Polytech community. The
RRA is a key member of the legal team and must maintain positive relationships with campus and
community resources including Community Health Resources, Student Accessibility Services, Student
Counselling Services, Campus Security, Human Resources, the Students' Association and others.

  • R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
  • University degree in Human Resource Management, Social Work, Law, or an equivalent combination
- of education and experience
  • Recent experience in gathering and assessing information and leading and conducting neutral

- workplace investigations
  • Recent experience with and demonstrated ability to identify relevant facts, analyze information, think
  • Experience delivering training seminars
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of procedural fairness
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Manitoba Human Rights Code, The
  • Workplace Safety and Health Act and The Personal Investigations Act
  • Understanding of and interest in supporting a respectful learning environment through a deep
knowledge of issues around bullying, discrimination and harassment, sexual violence including
relevant laws, impacts, and best practice

  • Understanding of the principles of accommodation
  • Superior ability to write reports to explain findings and make recommendations in a well reasoned
- manner and in plain language
  • Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal and listening skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trusting relationships and engage various

- stakeholders
  • Ability to work with sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning
and continuous improvement

  • Experience working with Indigenous people or a demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultures
  • Experience facilitating mediation process
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Manitoba
