PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE PERSON
The Maintenance

Services Department of the Simcoe County District School Board is seeking

qualified applicants for the position of Preventative Maintenance Person. Reporting

to the assigned Maintenance Supervisor, the Preventative Maintenance (PM)

Person will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing preventative

maintenance services to various building systems in the areas of HVAC, life safety

systems, building exhaust/ventilation, dryer exhaust, security testing, eye

wash stations and associated equipment, as well as various building systems and

components as assigned.

PM Persons will

work in groups of two (2) within an assigned PM Area. Each PM Area will be

provided with a board vehicle which will be based out of the Education Centre

or designated location (Maintenance / Operations Shop or Secondary School)

within each PM Area. PM Persons may be required to work in any PM area as

required to meet operational needs.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

1.

Knowledge,

experience and aptitude in the operation, servicing and repair of mechanical/electrical

building systems and components.

2.

Knowledge

and experience in the use of power tools and construction equipment.

3.

Knowledge

of preventative maintenance methods relating to building systems.

4.

Ability

to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and shop drawings.

5.

Good

communication skills, along with the ability to follow oral and written

instructions.

6.

This position is physically demanding and includes lifting tasks,

working from ladders, scaffolding and rooftops, and working outdoors in a

variety of weather conditions.

7.

Excellent

organizational, scheduling and time management skills.

8.

Valid

Ontario's drivers licence is required, and proof will be requested on hiring.

9.

Computer

literacy sufficient to operate Facility Services Computerized Maintenance Work

Order System.

Preferred

Qualifications and Skills


  • Completion of Building
Environmental Systems BES700 Building Systems - Practical Overview.


  • Completion of any other BES
courses (in addition to BES700) related to building systems maintenance and

operations.
