Duties:


The Correspondence Assistant performs duties related to consular communications and outreach in English and French, including reviewing and responding to inquiries from the public, congress, attorneys, and government agencies on the technical aspects of visa processing, visa litigation, American Citizen Services and visa case status.

Employee also serves as the primary contact point for Canadian Government, USG representatives, and other external organizations to facilitate Consular's outreach efforts.

Employee documents all case-specific correspondence in consular systems and partners with PAS to provide cleared and timely website/social media guidance pertaining to visa policies and procedures, maintains correspondence volume statistics, and develops updated template language in French and English.

Employee coordinates diplomatic visa appointments, ensures the IV visa navigator portal on the public website is accurate and up to date, and conducts routine reviews of consular website content.
