Reporting to the Corporate Director, Digital & Creative Services, the communications advisor will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our organization's internal and external communication strategies.

Using strategic thinking, creativity, and teamwork, the advisor will contribute to a variety of projects and initiatives to advance the strategic directions of the organization.


Key responsibilities include:

Developing, implementing, and evaluating communication plans for client areas and the organization, driving engagement and alignment with strategic objectives.

Spearheading the implementation of projects by developing tactical plans and detailed work plans.

Collaborating with the team to coordinate various aspects such as web, photography, video, social media, design services, etc., ensuring seamless execution.

Researching, writing, editing, and managing content across print and digital platforms, maintaining a consistent voice. Content may include stories, presentations, web content, newsletters, and other corporate materials. Providing scheduled or emergent weekend and after-hours communications support for issues management and media relations. Developing and leading corporate initiatives within the portfolio to advance the organization's strategic priorities, fostering innovation and continuous improvement. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

A degree with specialization in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or a related discipline. A combination of relevant education and work experience will be considered.

Three to five years of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating communication strategies, with experience in integrated communications across platforms, including digital and print.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience managing projects from the identification of business needs through to implementation and delivery. Experience managing large-scale projects impacting a broad range of cross-functional teams is an asset. Extensive experience in conceptualizing, developing, and evaluating communication materials, including communication strategies and tactics.

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience in developing diverse materials such as key messages, stories, memos and presentations.

Strong project management skills with a thorough understanding of strategic planning processes. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, including potential competitive and conflicting priorities and time pressures. Exceptional attention to accuracy and detail required. Demonstrated issues management and crisis communications skills. Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced, change-affected environment.

Strong commitment to personal development and participation in continuing education activities to enhance knowledge of communications & marketing trends, best practices, and new technologies.
