Cleaner; Buses and Facilities - New Minas, Canada - Kings Transit Authority

Description

Under the direction of the Bus Maintenance Coordinator, the cleaner is responsible for the cleaning of transit buses and the facility in New Minas in accordance with a set schedule.

• Clean the interior building spaces in accordance with a set schedule.
• Perform floor care duties, such as stripping, sealing, waxing, etc.
• Clean the interior and exterior of the Transit Buses.
• Maintain cleaning supplies.
• Maintain and promote a safe work environment
• Handle cleaning products and equipment in a safe manor
• Perform snow and ice control duties as required or assigned by Bus Maintenance Coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned by the Bus Maintenance Coordinator

• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to provide a clean Driver's Abstract. (No more than one demerit)
• Where available, provide a letter from most recent employer's insurance company detailing any prior incidents/claims while insured on employer's policy.
• Must be willing and capable of obtaining a Class 2 drivers license with air brake endorsement. (Training provided)
• Previous janitorial/cleaning/detailing experience considered an asset.
• First Aid CPR/AED, or be able to achieve within 6months of hire. (Training provided)
• Ability to learn and conform to safety regulations, policies, procedures, legislative acts, best practices, and training
• A high degree of analytical thinking, attention to detail, organization skills and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Physical labor involving lifting, bending and reaching.

• Evening/night shift work and shift adjustments in response to operational requirements
• May be exposed to extreme weather conditions
• May be exposed to heat, cold, solvents, or noise
• All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided

• Criminal Record Check with positive results.
