Group Reservation - Halifax, Canada - HOTEL HALIFAX
Description
The Group Reservation & Revenue Coordinator manages all group reservations in line with company (and brand) standards, providing efficient and high standards of work to maximize room revenue and guest satisfaction.
This role also provides ongoing communication between the client, the hotel and the Sales & Catering team ensuring all operational standards are met based on property specific standards and SOP (standard operating procedure).
What You Will Do:
- Act as the primary resource for the operational and administrative functions for group block management, including building blocks, managing group inventory, billing, prearrival and post arrival tasks as required
- Act as a resource to the hotel and the client for information, verifying information and disseminate as appropriate.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the sales, front office, accounting areas, demand periods and seasons
- Maintain a working relationship with revenue management principles, as it applies to the hotel in general by attending revenue management and sales meetings, along with weekly scrub meeting
- Create and manage online booking codes, group pick, wash & release dates, as well as any applicable attrition requirements based on the signed contract
- Manage room blocks in Opera: building the block, ensuring the correct rooms and inventory has been allotted and routing has been set up
- Work with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Sales Managers and Conference Service Managers to ensure VIP upgrades are processed
- Ensure all appropriate notes are on the Group Resume, which the Sales Coordinator will create, and each relevant department will add in notes
- Update our online reservation portals
- Assist with Top Corporate accounts in booking of reservations
- Work with reservations in ensure Crew & Bus Tours (with no catering needs, if there is a F&B component, then the group should be managed by either the Sales Manager or the Conference Service Manager.
- Maintain accurate files and systems for information retrieval as it relates to group bookings
- Create both Group and Corporate online booking links
- Attend any property or brand training
Your Preferred Education & Qualifications:
- Strong technical skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Opera
- Excellent organizational skills, telephone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to be a team player with a high level of dedication
- Experience in working directly with a Revenue Manager/Director
Salary:
Up to $19.09 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
