Under the guidance of the Director of Operations and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing capital projects for the organization, by contributing to optimal efficiency and safety and compliance within the organization.

This role will be responsible for managing project(s) from inception to completion while adhering to budgets, timelines, and key deliverables.


Education

  • Completion of a degree in mechanical engineering and/or mechanical technology with a combination of workrelated experience.
  • Completion of Project Management certificate is an asset.
  • Professional Engineering designation is an asset.
  • Secondary language is an asset, specifically Cantonese and Mandarin.

  • Excellent problemsolving skills in order to resolve conflicts and problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to maintain an excellent rapport with suppliers.

Special Requirements

  • Valid drivers license and clean driving abstract.
  • Valid passport, for travel requirements within North America and internationally, and willingness to travel, as required.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for project planning and coordination, to include; sourcing, integrating, installing, setting up new or modified manufacturing equipment, training and ensuring program timelines, safety and quality requirements and budgets are maintained.
  • Participate in strategic business planning projects for current and future organizational structure changes. To include; space planning, building permitting/local government and provincial ministry meetings, plan layout design, documentation and open communication with employees.
  • Coordinate with contractors, municipality officials, the client and their representatives including plant staff on scheduling, coordination and other critical items to ensure project(s) are completed on time and on budget.
  • Regularly meet with ownership and management to provide detailed progress reporting.
  • Organizing and executing continuous improvement efforts, to equipment and product line(s) in a manner that enhances the total quality of the end product and is effectively adopted and communicated within the organization through to the end customers.
  • Support operational improvements by designing and modifying processes and equipment for improved safety, quality and efficiency; solicits input and feedback from customers.
  • Review timelines for projects to determine subcontractors/contractors that will need to be engaged. Communicate and engage via various methodologies.
