What do you offer?


The Team Leader directs, supports, supervises, assists and leads members of the Aquatics team to ensure the safety and satisfaction of members in the centers' Aquatics programs.

This position works collaboratively with the Aquatics team on strategies to improve the member experience and program quality and thereby increase member satisfaction and retention.

The Team Leader takes a hands-on approach to facilitating the delivery of family focused programs and services, as well as helping to monitor and support program quality.


Some of the tasks of this position include:

  • Directing, supervising, assisting and leading members of the Aquatics team.
  • Working collaboratively with the Aquatics team on strategies to improve the member experience and program quality.
  • Assisting Instructors in developing, designing, and delivering program content.
  • Ensuring that all lesson participants are registered in the correct swim level for their ability, conducting swim assessments and making recommendations, as needed.
  • Collaborating with the Aquatics Supervisor to train the Aquatics team.
  • Ensuring that all Lifeguards and Instructors adhere to the Instructor and Lifeguard Behaviour Grids.
  • Ensuring that excellent customer service is provided to members and participants, by proactively addressing concerns related to Aquatics programs and general pool safety.

What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?

Language

  • Fluent in English, oral and written
  • French is an asset

Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with staff and program participants
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic understanding of pool operations
  • Ability to maintain calm and professional in highstress situations

Additional Requirements:


  • Applicants must have a current Standard First Aid and CPR "C" certification.
  • Applicants must have a current National Lifeguard (NL) certification.
  • Applicants must have a current Y Swim Instructor or LSS Swim Instructor certification.
  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • Semiannually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protectio
