We are looking for a Projection & Sound Technician based in the Greater Toronto Area to provide on site installation, maintenance, & service for commercial cinemas, and potentially Audio Visual projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively undertake and complete technical duties associated with the installation of projection, sound & automation equipment in cinemas, multipurpose theatres & a range of other venues. Work to technical safety standards, and ensure the Client is satisfied. Provide a sign off on all work completed.
- Effectively undertake and complete technical duties associated with the preventative maintenance and requested service of projection, sound & automation equipment in cinemas, multipurpose theatres & a wide range of other venues.
- Effectively undertake and complete technical troubleshooting duties associated with any "On-Call" or Remote Assistance work as required or assigned.
- Effectively undertake and complete any Diagnostic Analysis, Repair work or other activity as requested. Ensure that all paperwork/reports & other relevant documentation is completed thoroughly & accurately.
- Participate in the "On-Call" Rotation (including evenings, weekends and National Holidays). Rotation period is typically from Friday to Thursday. Attend to emergency service requests as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good electrical and electronic skills. Ability to understand basic electrical theory and safe troubleshooting skills. Additional certifications in electronics, manufacturers courses (ie. Crestron, QSC, etc), or Audio Visual Technology (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) are desirable for the position. Specific training will be given for the products we supply and service.
- Knowledge of the technical requirements of installing and maintaining projection, sound & automation equipment. Or alternatively knowledge of Audio Visual installation and service requirements.
- Up to date knowledge of projection, visual display, automation and sound, or audio visual technology, equipment and capabilities.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Windows and Linux systems, Networking.
- Ability to engage professionally with clients, colleagues and others.
- Attention to detail, and a logical approach to problem solving.
- Able to work under tight deadlines, and cope under pressure.
- Possess a valid drivers license, personal vehicle, and the willingness to use personal vehicle for transportation (with provided compensation for travel and mileage)
Salary:
$20.00-$30.00 per hour
