JOB OVERVIEW:
The Sales Manager position is responsible for the production of group room, banquet meeting room and banquet food and beverage revenue as defined by the Corporate Director of Sales for all three Canadian properties for Merani Hotel Group.
Within their market assignments as designated by the Director of Sales, this person will also be responsible for contracting/booking to finalization of details/event orders in a timely manner.
In addition to the above, this position is responsible for assisting the Director of Sales, the Banquet Manager and other hotel management and departments as needed.

- Ability to suggestively sell additional extra revenue items.
- Ability to input and access information into computer.
- Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of client information and hotel data.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to focus with attention to details.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Comply with all hotel/departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all clerical work is processed on a timely basis.
- Organize group traces files for followup; be familiar with status of each.
- Maintain a professional, organized office environment.
- Conduct Site Tours to prospective clients through the property to highlight features.
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiry.
- Contact clients after each scheduled event to solicit rebooking, when applicable.
- Participate in Trade Shows.
- Respond to all leads within 24 business hours.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Previous hotel sales experience preferred.
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and coworkers.
- Ability to provide legible communication.
- Familiarity with Sales and Marketing tools
- Ability to learn and use Sales and Catering automated system, familiarity with Windows, Excel, and other systems.
