The Prince Rupert Airport Authority (PRAA) is a not-for-profit authority that operates the
Prince Rupert Airport. The PRAA comprises the Mayor of Prince Rupert, the City
Manager, and the City Council. The eight Directors of the Authority who oversee the
airport operations are appointed by the City and sit for a term of two years.

We seek a dynamic leader to assume overall responsibility for airport operations

and manage and market airport lands, facilities, and services.

What you'll do:

As the Airport Manager, you will report to the Board of Directors through the appointed
Chair. Your work will comprise preparing strategic plans for the future growth and
development of Airport lands and facilities; managing tenant agreements; and serving as
the liaison for federal regulatory agencies, airline staff, general aviation groups, local
government bodies, and other interested groups.

As the Airport Manager, you are responsible for the safe and secure operation and
maintenance of the Prince Rupert Airport.

Your duties also include but are not limited to
:

Direct supervision, scheduling and training of airport staff. 

Administration of the collective agreement. 

Management of the airfield operations, emergency planning, facility and equipment

maintenance, aircraft refuelling dealership and other functions as required. 

Budgeting and financial management. 

Marketing, customer and community relations. 

Business and commercial development initiatives.


What you bring:

Direct airport management and operations experience or a combination of post
- secondary education and relevant work experience in a related field such as

logistics or administration. 

Thorough knowledge of airport operating standards, regulations, and practices is

considered an asset. 

A strong sense of self-motivation. 

A creative and collaborative spirit. 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines 

Excellent presentation skills. 

laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. 

Computer literacy. 

Project management skills; and skills in formulating and managing capital and

operating budgets. 

A high level of personal responsibility and accountability.
