Overview:

Responsibilities:

Translate content for GMF employees (60%)

  • Ensure all translated content maintains context and style of the original material to the greatest extent possible
  • Translate, edit and proofread technical and nontechnical documents from English to French (Canadian) and vice versa
  • Ensure adherence to established industry translations and inclusive language
Translate content for external audiences (eg, Dealer Services) (20%)

  • Ensure all translated content maintains context and style of the original material to the greatest extent possible
  • Translate, edit and proofread content intended for dealers and occasionally retail customers
  • Ensure adherence to established industry translations and inclusive language
Review content translated by external agency (20%)

  • Help coordinate translations completed be outside agency, as needed
  • Improve writing tools and processes, format documents, and assist as needed to produce worldclass services and products
  • Ensure adherence to established industry translations and inclusive language

Qualifications:

Knowledge

  • Full fluency and excellent written and speaking skills in French (Canadian) and English
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the automotive and finance industries is a plus
  • Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailoriented, enthusiastic, selfmotivated and responsible
  • Relevant work experience, or personal project experience in technical writing, editing, user interface experience, factchecking, copywriting or content strategy
  • Knowledge of online technology and related technology and products
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced, constantly changing environment

Education

  • Bachelors Degree is required

Experience

  • 35 years of translation experience (French [Canadian] to English and English to French [Canadian]) is required
  • 02 years of experience in automotive or finance industries is preferred

Licenses

  • Certification by the Canadian Translators and Interpreters Council required
  • Membership in the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario required
