Position:
Part-Time Respite Instructor (Union Position)

Rate of Pay:
$21.74/hour

Current Location:401 Champagne Drive (Toronto Saturday Program)

Hours and Days of Work
Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a Diploma or degree program in a related field (Developmental Services Worker, Social Service Worker, Community Service Worker, Behavioural Science, Recreation and Leisure)
1 year working experience with people that have developmental disabilities, specifically autism
Must have strong communication skills, and be able to work effectively as a team and individually
Must have experience dealing with challenging behaviors because of the possibility of working with aggressive clients
Must have a valid G driver's licence
French language is an asset

Job Duties

To work hands on with individuals that have developmental disabilities in a recreational and leisure environment
Responsible for a number of clients. Follow through on curriculums, help clients develop their skills, supporting clients on community outings, and completing any necessary paperwork and other related duties.
Responsible for transporting clients in company vans to outings and to/from programs
