Warehouse Supervisor - Cambridge, Canada - Shred-Tech Corporation
Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively lead a team of material coordinators to achieve department goals and exceed customer expectations.
- Be a health and safety role model. Ensure company safety policies are being followed.
- Responsible for timely execution of the daily material handling functions, including shipping, receiving, and warehousing.
- Coordinate picking and part presentation of job material to meet production schedules.
- Establish and drive best practices across all areas of responsibility.
- In collaboration with the logistics manager, develop, track and report department KIP's that support the business.
- Ensure inventory transactions are being performed using RF scanners.
- Collaborate with MDS, processing and parts and service business units to develop specific material handling processes expectations.
- Collaborate with the Inventory Control Team to maintain stocking locations, inventory controls tools and inventory accuracy.
- Responsible for ensuring the warehouse is kept in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
- Jump in and assist the team with daytoday functions and lead by example.
- Champion department CI initiatives.
- Along with the Inventory Control Supervisor and Logistics Manager. Assist in coordinating and running annual physical inventory counts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Grade 12 or equivalent. Post secondary credentials in supply chain or warehousing preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of warehousing, shipping/receiving, or transportation experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of shipping/ receiving and warehousing processes.
- Familiar with ERP systems and principles. Experience using Epicor is an asset.
- Experience using RF scan guns in an asset.
- Former or current forklift/ reach truck experience is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Ability to identify actionable tasks and selfstart.
- Capable to receive instruction and be trained in new duties and responsibilities.
- Know, understand and follow safe material handling practices.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Must be able to work well in a team, communicate and contribute ideas.
