Description

This position will be based in North Vancouver with some travel to jobsites as required.
In support of the Project Manager, the Project Control Lead attends to the project controls matters of projects.


Including but not limited to:

  • Conversion of Proposal Estimate done in Heavy Bid Software into Project Budget for upload into ERP (Process of Conforming Estimate)
  • Monitoring submission of Daily and Weekly reporting by Project Teams to ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Direct Participation in Change Management process, including the amalgamation of Project Change Status logs into consolidated monthly reports for use by VP Operations for Management reporting
  • Maintenance of Project Risk Registers, in conjunction with Project Manager
  • Monitoring and assistance in production of Project History Records in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Setting up the project WBS, project cost codes, and the Project Baseline Budget
  • Develop and enforce project controls policies, processes and procedures to ensure contract compliance and ensure timely and accurate reporting internally on cost, schedule and project status, as well as direct participation in execution of same.
  • Prepare and update project cash flows as required throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regular review, assessment, and update of committed cost reports.
  • Perform comprehensive monthly analyses on variances between actual and plan, and carry out forecasts/projections to completion for use by management. Provide management team with all the required project controls summary reports and analyses.
  • Review the project contract and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting and all related issues) are applied and fulfilled when setting up the project within the project controls system
  • Support change management with appropriate schedule and cost analysis
  • Advise on project controls strategy for successful project execution
  • Leadership, training and development of project staff with respect to Project Controls duties and obligations.
  • Input to estimating department during bid phases including review of Project Control requirements
  • Participate in developing and maintaining the company's Project Control systems
  • Collaboration with Contracts Specialist, including performance of administrative duties as assigned from time to time related to administration of insurance and bonding.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years related Project Controls experience on major projects
  • Proven track record on delivering Project Controls success on contracts of a fixed price nature
  • Experience with scheduling software (Microsoft Project, P6) is a plus
  • Engineering / Accounting Degree or equivalent including demonstration of related experience
  • Sound understanding of all project controls on major projects including cost management, schedule management, change management, and risk management
  • Ability to develop appropriate Project Control systems on complex projects to provide accurate data to assist decision making
  • Claims experience in substantiating cost and schedule impact on major projects of a complex nature
  • Ability to develop required internal and external reports as required based on the contract and internal procedures
