Civil Estimator - Chilliwack - Goldbeck Recruiting

Description

Our client is a full-scope contractor specializing in drilling/blasting and related services. We are looking for an Estimator to join their team. Candidates can be based remotely if travel to Chilliwack from time to time is possible.

Reporting to the Lead Estimator and Owner, this person will prepare estimates from start to finish, including take offs and negotiating with vendors/subcontractors. We are searching for candidates who have a minimum of 3 years of experience in civil estimating and experience using HeavyBid software.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the management of all estimating activities including, but not limited to, project planning, project management, and budgeting.
• Responsible for all aspects of the bid preparation process including preparing estimates for various projects in accordance with company standards and procedures.
• Responsible for preparing estimates for new projects as they are received.
• Responsible for reviewing all bids and proposals submitted by the organization and evaluating each proposal to determine if it complies with bid specifications and/or applicable governmental or regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for reviewing all bids from subcontractors and contractors to ensure that they meet bid specifications and are in compliance with applicable bid specifications and regulations.
• Responsible for reviewing all construction drawings to ensure that they comply with bid specifications and are in compliance with applicable bid specifications and regulations.
• Responsible for reviewing all plans to ensure that they comply with bid specifications and are in compliance with applicable bid specifications and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in a civil focused environment.
• Experience using HeavyBid software for accurate and detailed cost estimation.
• Proficiency in using Bluebeam, AGTEK, and AutoCAD Civil 3D software for estimating purposes.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors.
• Project management experience to oversee estimating processes efficiently is a major asset.
• Familiarity with excavation is a major asset.
• Willing to travel to Chilliwack or client sites as needed.
