Blake Medical Group Inc., is a proud Canadian family owned manufacture of medical seating, mattresses and a unique gel that is the fundamental part of our product line, based in Hamilton, Ontario.

We are seeking a Financial Controller with a CPA designation in good standing, who can support, guide and play a key role in managing our financial health as we continue to grow and early-stage entry into the European market.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Responsible for the financial control and reporting framework of company with 3 plants and intercompany transactions.
  • Full cycle accounting including monthend and yearend processes, journal entries, bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
  • Oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury and inventory
  • Experience in cost accounting would be an asset
  • Develop and refine reporting processes to ensure timely strategic information for management decision making
  • Implement and closely monitor internal control policies, procedures and processes
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare annual and quarterly budgets and track results to budgets
  • Review intercompany transactions and reconcile the accounts
  • Manage cash flow and capital spending
  • Manage tax filing processes to ensure compliance with corporate tax, HST, EHT and other government reconciliations and remittances
  • Payroll submission to Ceridian and overseeing Group Health Benefits
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by all staff and that all transactions are correctly reflected in the accounts
  • Prepare and circulate key financial results

Financial Controller Requirements:


  • University degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA in good standing
years accounting experience (at least 3 years in a corporate accounting environment)

  • Strong knowledge and focus on internal controls and compliance
  • Excellent judgement, problem solving and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
  • Experience with accounting software, like QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise & Advanced MS Excel knowledge
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
