Controller, Opsco Process Corp.

A 55-year-old industry leading fabrication company, OPSCO Process Corp., a division of Total Energy
Services Inc.

is dedicated to supplying superior packaged equipment, pressure vessels and piping for upstream, midstream and downstream energy markets for domestic and international projects utilizing our industry leading personnel and maximizing our modern 65,000 sq.

ft. facilities in Calgary.

We are currently seeking a Controller. This position will be responsible for divisional accounting, finance, budgetary, internal controls and related functions.

Major duties include overseeing the preparation of financial and management reports, coordinating budget and financial records and overseeing administration of credit policy.

The Controller will be responsible for providing timely and accurate information to divisional and corporate management, including financial and business analysis and other financial reports.

Accountabilities

  • Closely collaborate with Operations to ensure accurate, complete and timely financial statements and reporting packages;
  • Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages and other reports as required;
  • Manage accounting operations (journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, job costing, reporting);
  • Hire, train, mentor and lead the accounting team;
  • Review and approve biweekly hourly and salary payroll;
  • Oversee compliance with internal controls and relevant corporate policies;
  • Manage the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Analyze and report on variances to budget and other analysis, as required;
  • Oversee preparation and filing of sales tax, payroll and other regulatory taxes and filings;
  • Collaborate with management to define, assess, implement and improve controls and processes;
  • Implement and maintain internal controls relating to financial policies, processes and procedures;
  • Oversee collection of overdue accounts receivable;
  • Manage treasury function; and
  • Other duties as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications:


  • CPA designation or currently enrolled in an accounting designation program
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing business
  • Experience and knowledge in all aspects of accounting and financial management
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Excel, and Dynamics SL is an asset
  • Proven and effective management skills and experience
  • Selfmotivated team player, who possesses strong problem solving and time management skills
