Reporting to the Director, IT, the Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining computer systems, networks, and servers at TD Place and provide support to our user base and event clients across a wide range of systems.

This role will ensure the smooth operation and optimal performance of our IT infrastructure to meet both internal and event requirements.


_ What you'll do:
_


  • Monitor help desk system and assist IT Support Technician with ticket resolution as necessary;
  • Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers. This includes server provisioning, patching, monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning;
  • VMWare administration in vCenter server of the onsite hosts.
  • Implement and manage data backup and recovery strategies to ensure the protection and availability of critical systems and data. Test and verify backups regularly;
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides;
  • Provide event day IT support when required and serve as main point of contact for any critical system outages or client requests;
  • Support corporate audio visual systems and assist with event day A/V requirements;
  • Lead system upgrade or migration projects through to successful completion

_ What's needed:
_


  • Completion of a post secondary degree, diploma or certification IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role;
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, network protocols, and server administration;
  • Experience with VMWare vCenter server and host administration;
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs;
  • Experience with general TCP/IP networking, VOIP phone systems, Windows Server, Exchange, Win11, VPN, Active Directory, Symantec antivirus, Backup Exec;
  • Experience providing corporate Audiovisual support services;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • Experience working within a fastpaced, dynamic environment;
  • Microsoft certification an asset;
  • Able and willing to work outside of regular working hours including evenings, weekends and holidays;
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
