FABRICATOR


In this role you will be responsible for all of the fabrication and general assembly aspects of the projects according to project specifications and within the specified timing requirements.


Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • All aspects of the fabrication and general assembly portion of custom automated equipment, including, but not limited to, Cutting, Fitting, Welding (Tig, Mig and Arc), Assemble, Paint, Bend, Start-up, Commissioning, Installation and Service.
  • Promote and enforce a safe, clean, organized and healthy work environment through good work habits
  • Ensure every job is adequately planned for and executed according to project specifications from project kickoff to the project completion.

This includes the following:

  • Take part in internal design review meetings, when called upon.
  • Work with the Mechanical Designer, Manufacturing Manager and Project Manager to make recommendations for manufacturing and assembly, as well as potential cost savings.
  • Identify what BOM items are in stock and can be used in the Mechanical Design.
  • Complete a thorough kickoff review of the Mechanical Design Package with the Mechanical Designer and Manufacturing Manager assigned to the project.
  • Provide estimates on the number of hours it will take to complete the fabrication aspect of the project.
  • Communicate with Project Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Mechanical Designer, and the other project team members on a regular basis to discuss project status, open issues, and project changes.
  • When called upon work with the Machine Builder and Controls Designer/Programmer to startup and commission the equipment.
  • Assist the production team in troubleshooting and solving production and quality problems

Desired Skills and Experience:


  • Minimum 13 years of experience
  • Certified Welder (Asset)
  • Blueprint reading (Asset)
  • Experience in assembly plant manufacturing (automotive preferred)
  • Emphasis on manufacturing process and equipment
  • Strong technical skills
  • Positive attitude

Salary:
$20.00-$30.00 per hour
