    Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Site Inspector Rail Corridors and Stations to join the infrastructure group in our Linear Infrastructure & Facilities team in the Markham, ON location.

    As the successful candidate, you will:

    • Coordinate and carry out inspections during construction to review quality of contractor's work and compliance with the construction IFC drawings, contract specifications, safety standards and applicable industry standards.
    • Maintain site records, construction photographs at all key stages of the works and suitably filed and titled, site diary, etc.
    • Provide daily written progress reports and findings, for both regular progress updates and any safety issues.
    • Measure dimensions and elevations to ensure compliance and verify payment quantities, track construction progress, daily productivity and review Daily Work Records (DWRs).
    • Proactively looking for issues, recommending mitigation measures, evaluating incidents early and adapting as needed.
    • Coordinate materials testing in accordance with the contract documents & communicate test results to Owner and contractor.
    • Notify the contractor of any deficiencies in the construction of the work.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • This is a site-based role. Required to attend site daily at stipulated times with possibility of night / weekend work (requires own means of transportation)

    You bring to the role:

    • Demonstrated experience of 5+ years in construction of transit facilities and rail corridors expansion.
    • P.Eng. or C.E.T designation, or Accredited Architectural or Building Technologist, licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario is an asset.
    • Experience with freight, commuter rail, metro and/or LRT with emphasis on brown field upgrades.
    • Demonstrable experience in procedure development, construction safety, scheduling, testing and inspection.
    • Experience in inspection in accordance with the terms of the Construction Contract.
