Badger Infrastructure Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Plant Manager in our Red Deer manufacturing facility. The Plant Manager's focus is to organize and oversee the manufacturing of customized Hydrovac vehicles.

This position has accountability for the smooth operation of production facility by matching the production output with the established plan while meeting the quality objectives.

The Plant Manager must have the ability to adapt processes and procedures while building a strong team to maximize employee retention and enhance performance capabilities.

This role drives changes and directs the teams by showing outstanding people and transformational skills.

Responsible for improvement of production lines and ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements are adhered to by employees and contractors.

Implements and manages continuous improvement in product and material flow, manufacturing processes, and quality.

  • Develops and executes a 1year business plan ensuring alignment with the overall strategic plan and immediate manager's business plan.
  • Develops and implements manufacturing strategic plans in partnership with Engineering and SCM that support topperforming business objectives.
  • Builds capabilities, tools, and processes to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Identifies and prioritizes manufacturing challenges based on root cause identification in operational key result areas and recommends changes for quality performance, continuous improvement, cost effectiveness and excellent customer service.
  • Drives excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through the manufacturing spectrum.
  • Institutes a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Builds a strong operations talent base, partners with human resources and peers to develop talent management strategies and plans to support short and longrange business plans.
  • Manages direct labor, indirect and salary staff headcount requirements under his/her area of responsibilities to meet targets and at the same time remain competitive. Recommends increases and decreases within labor classifications as needed to support manufacturing requirements.
  • Defines and implements manufacturing plant processes and activities to optimize flow efficiency and maximize capacity planning.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement through Lean techniques collaborate with Manufacturing Engineer to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste.
  • Ensures manufacturing targets are achieved through collaborative objective planning through a high level of involvement with other managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Recommends infrastructure maintenance and purchasing of equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Performs root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Interfaces with Safety Advisor ensuring health and safety consideration are integrated in all production, operations and additions or changes.
  • Authority to direct labor to meet productivity and delivery targets
  • Authority per financial authority matrixes (in relation to equipment needs within the factory)
  • Represents direct manager within the factory in their absence

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of 7 years' experience in production management.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing exposure would be an asset, ongoing training and development will be required to enhance future planning development.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation concepts.
  • Experience in developing and reporting on key performance metrics.
  • Able to collaborate well with other personnel to enable various reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP software and planning software.
  • Excellent organizational and leaderships skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and coach talent and manage change and conflict.
  • Demonstrated ability of strong decisionmaking skills, problemsolving skills, and a resultsdriven approach.
  • Demonstrated ability of driving continuous process improvement.
  • Fully applies oneself to the requirements of the position
