The Role

Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a
_Finance Operations Coordinator _to join our Finance team reporting to the Sr Finance Manager, Content Operations. The Analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting kobo's content and device teams, through managing various finance tasks.


We're looking for someone who will thrive in a fast-paced innovative culture, navigate dynamic structures, and be focused on delivering results with an emphasis on process orientation.

This person will be an integral part of our finance team, which makes the responsibilities crucial to the period-end accounting, reporting and payment processes.


  • Responsibilities:_
1) Payments

  • Invoice reconciliations ensuring accuracy of amounts owed based on contractual terms
  • Preparation and processing of monthly commissions & royalty payments
  • Vendor Banking information management and oversight
2) Invoicing & Reporting

  • Prepare, review and process invoices related to the content business unit
  • Ensure sales reporting to all publishers & partners is delivered accurately and timely
  • Review of aging balances to ensure any issues are promptly resolved
3) Month-End

  • Journal entry processing related to the content business
  • Monthend related invoice processing
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
4) Channel Marketing Support

  • Process & validate credit memos
  • Support accounts receivables
  • Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Periodend journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
5) Other

  • Finance representative and liaison on all publisher reporting inquiries (internal and external)
  • Support various other adhoc finance projects (Data entry & review)
  • The Skillset:_

Required:

  • Postsecondary degree in accounting, finance and or business administration
  • Must be organized to prioritize multiple tasks
  • A quick learner with complex processes and excel models
  • Must be diligent and reliable in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work through and and develop complex processes with a focus on continuously looking for areas of improvement
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

Nice to Haves:

  • Prior experience with ERP's and financial Systems
  • Knowledge of SQL is an asset
