About the Role


Reporting to the PACO Team Lead, the Instrument Engineer - 2 is a key member of the Technical Support Organization which is part of the Operations Team.

The Instrument Engineer - 2 role is responsible for implementing the work processes to execute all of the LNG Canada Asset PACO requirements including Commissioning & Start-ups, Ramp-up, meeting the first 200 cargos, maintenance, turnaround (major campaign maintenance) and shutdown activities safely & efficiently.

The primary function of the Instrument Engineer - 2 is the continuous improvement utilizing the digitalization of the Maintenance Execution strategies to prevent plant/unit trips due to Instrumentation.

Demonstrating event after event improvements in HSSE, field Instrumentation robustness, process availability and process safety.

You will use your expertise to:

During EXECUTE phase of the project (including module fabrication, pre-commissioning ,commissioning, start up and ramp up):

  • Engage with the wider Technical Support, Maintenance, Technology, Commercial and Production Team to build a strong and coherent operations culture
  • Support assurance activities at site to ensure EPC deliverables meet the requirements of the Lump Sum Contract, Project Standards & Industry Best Practices, Inspection Test Records (ITRs) and operational readiness requirements.
  • Support punch listing at handover to ensure agreement with A, B and C, punch items
  • Drive and integrate digital and data solutions into new ways of working, promoting and delivering a culture of continuous improvement and future proofing our business
  • Support writing maintenance procedures and guidelines based on site experience gained during CSU phases, first 200 cargos and vendor support.
  • Initiate NCR's for items not meeting EPC's deliverables, substandard construction and demonstrate a good mitigation plan.
  • Initiate Manage Threats & Opportunities (MTO) & MOC with proper risk assessment and mitigation plan if potential HSSE, Reliability/availability/operability concerns are observed.
  • Collaborate with JFJV (EPC), LNGC Project and site construction team to display a One Team mindset and promote a learner attitude.
  • Find opportunities for utilizing advance diagnosis alerts and alarms, failure mode prediction, digitalization Vs "the way we have always done it".
  • Provides to cover for other PACO leads to support CSU activities.
  • Support to digital team to develop solutions.
  • Support current RCM process and take ownership of Electronic Spare Parts Interchangibility Report (E-SPIR).
  • Support connected worker and augmentation workforce vision for LNGC
  • Act as integrator across all the PACO functions during CSU and initial startup period.
