Quality Control Technician - Richmond Hill, Canada - Mansteeel Rebar Ltd

We are currently seeking aQuality Control Technician to join the
Richmond Hill plant.
The QC Technician will be responsible for maintaining quality control standards by inspecting rebar for correct fabrication, tagging and safe loading on to trailers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections of completed work or work in progress for correct quantity, accurate fabrication, correctly tagged material, and timely shipment.
- Conduct quality audits and perform inspections on the production floor.
- Check all trailers that are in process of being loaded for safe loading and mixture of codes
- Check every completed trailer for safe loading and mixture of codes and sign off on it
- Recommend improvement measures to the production department to ensure quality control standards are met
- Guide the production team about the quality control issues to enhance the quality of the product
- Analyze all customer complaints, identify where they happened and suggest improvements to mitigate the issue from happening again
- Monitor customer satisfaction levels.
- Responsible for implementing effective QA processes and procedures.
- Collect, file, and maintain QA documents in accordance with standards and policies.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide feedback to management on the quality issues & findings as needed
- Perform other project related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Construction or Civil Engineering or related field
- Previous experience in a QC role is an asset
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices and methods; working knowledge of applicable laws, standards and regulations relating to construction, inspection and safety
- Ability to manage relationships with client, contractors, local inspectors & code officials
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills
- Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines all the while being detailoriented
- Sound computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Valid driver's license
