    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY : Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, performs yard maintenance duties, exterior and interior building maintenance, and deliveries.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Conducts general site cleanup, including sweeping, raking, and weed whacking.
  • Performs exterior building maintenance, which includes shed cleaning, minor painting, window cleaning, pressure washing overhead doors, laying of sod, cleaning bird feces, painting and planting/potting of trees.
  • Performs interior building maintenance, which includes minor clean-up in various areas and basements/boiler rooms, pressure washing of wash bay areas, garbage/waste removal and mopping.
  • Conducts deliveries (drop offs / pick ups).
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must possess superior customer service skills
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class "G" Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent
  • Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
  • Proficient in the use of computers and current related software (Word, Excel)
  • Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to perform general labour duties
  • Conditions of Employment:

  • Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
  • May be required to provide a successful driver's abstract
  • Must undergo a successful Criminal Records & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
  • Successful completion of a Thunder Bay Police Building Clearance Search
