The Manufacturing Team Leader oversees production schedules according to the customer shipment schedule; leads team development, process improvement and developing/executing the Manufacturing team strategy.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/Areas of Accountability:


  • Lead the production process, while adhering to customer requirements.
  • Develops and executes on manufacturing team strategy.
  • Develops production support activities to run a 24/7 manufacturing strategy.
  • Provides strategic direction to manufacturing planning, maximizing team capacity.
  • Provides guidance and shares ideas with team members on Team Leader's scope of activities within the manufacturing processes, leveraging a basic working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Provides direction and holds team members accountable for meeting standard target operation times consistently, accounting for controlling plans and simulation of cutting.
  • Ensures the team is comprised of individuals with varying skillsets, on a wide range of projects.
  • Understands downstream and upstream activities, within Team Leader's scope of activities, and identifies where constraints exist.
  • Clearly articulates key messages to individuals across various teams to support with issue resolution.
  • Demonstrates an in depth understanding of the ERP flow with the ability to troubleshoot and guide team members in proper usage and documentation.
  • Ensure Husky's productivity and quality standards are met.
  • Adheres to customer shipment schedules, ensuring quality standards and procedures are met and adhered to.
  • Manages the team and holds team members accountable for achieving production targets and deadlines based on broader business goals; able to prioritize work activities and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Sets targets that align to Husky's goals for cost, quality, and speed, and holds team members accountable for achieving customer desired target levels, identifying roadblocks and corrective action.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in parts and procedures.
  • Defines processes at a high level and assesses compliance to the processes.
  • Leads and directs team members on continuous improvement initiatives through strategic planning, leveraging the closedloop mechanism to consistently enhance performance and manages daily process improvements.
  • Lead crosstraining and knowledge sharing activities with other team members
  • Leads, manages and develops the team, which includes but is not limited to coaching, mentoring and crosstraining.
  • Prepares capability development plans.
  • Facilitates and enables corrective action as a result of relevant data sets/trends/SPCs and debugging measurement errors, encouraging team members to work across teams (e.g., with MEs).
  • Champions EH&S guidelines and principles, and encourages team members to follow, enhance and develop safety standards.
  • Ensures appropriate training is in place and serves as a role model for team members.
