Reporting to the Senior Director, CVI Source, Data Solutions and Cardiac Registry, the Lead, CVI Source and Technical Systems is responsible for providing strategic technology leadership and technical direction for all systems development, implementation, integration and maintenance for CVI source based on a strong knowledge of Cardiac business needs for the Province, and a good understanding of data, design and workflow.


What you'll do

  • Maintains currency with all facets of CSBC's Cardiac Registry needs. Conducts evaluation of new services and their applicability/compatibility. Develops design standards, conducts risk assessments, cost benefit analyses, identifies impacts and integration requirements.
  • Analyses requirements and liaises with developer teams to ensure appropriate design, build, testing and functional requirements are met and CSBC's priorities are reflected in deliverables.
  • Defines, develops (and/or approves) and implements policies, procedures and standards for testing, data quality and user education.
  • Analyses, compiles, prepares and/ or provides input to detailed business cases, project feasibility studies, initiation proposals, for review and approval throughout the various stages of projects.
  • Develops briefing notes and delivers presentations on detailed project proposals, emerging or overlapping issues and implementation strategies.
  • Chairs CVIS meetings and recommends participants; works with staff and/ or contractors to ensure requirements and priorities are understood and met; represents CSBC at meetings to allocate overall project budget and facilitates the resolution of subsequent budgetary or scheduling needs.
  • Maintains data quality by leading the assessment of data quality, monitoring data quality and improving data quality through development of procedures, policies, corrections, user education and reporting.
  • Manages and provides leadership and guidance to team members by establishing priorities, directing work, assessing performance, motivating and coaching.

  • Ability to work in a matrix structured organization. Ability to deliver solutions using more than one type of software development methodology. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Ability to resolve conflict, building teams, facilitate and gain consensus, and form decisions for a project team across multiple departments of the organization. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
Skills & Knowledge

  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
  • Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act
