CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team.

JOB SUMMARY:

The function of the CNC Machinist is to produce machined parts, consisting primarily of a low volume, high mix product base.

Basic duties include, but are not limited to machine set-up, program & process verifications, production of 1st-off's & prototypes, monitoring production runs, load/unload parts onto fixtures, and conduct finished part dimensional verifications.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Required to perform set up and machining operations in a fastpaced environment
  • Responsible for proving out new programs and set ups
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, charts and tables or study sample parts to perform machining operations
  • Responsible for set up and operation on a variety of CNC machine tools to perform precision or repetitive machining operations such as milling, boring, drilling, reaming, tapping and other operations
  • Verify dimensions of machined features for accuracy and conformance to specifications using various measuring instruments
  • Responsible for maintaining product quality during machining cycle
  • General shop cleaning duties and routine equipment maintenance, including inspection of machinery prior to operation
  • May program, edit existing programs or prove out new programs for CNC machine tools
  • Responsible for following all established Quality & ISO standards and procedures

ACADEMIC/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • College diploma or university degree in technical discipline.
  • Must have completed a CNC setup and operator course or equivalent

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum 5 years experience in the metal working industry
  • Experience with vertical & horizontal CNC machining centers is required.
  • Experience with 5axis CNC machining centers is an asset.
  • Conventional machining experience an asset
  • Must be able to read and edit standard machine code
  • Must be able to use basic measuring instruments; such as calipers, micrometers and bore gauges
  • Good written and spoken communication skills required
  • Experience with SAP BAiO and/or SAP Version 4.6C an asset
Must meet requirements of Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
