JOB DESCRIPTION:

nextART is a Canadian owned art company business in Toronto, ON M6J 2S1. We are one of the largest artworks framing manufacturers in Canada with over 25 years experience. We are seeking Graphic Designers and Digital Mixed-Media Artists to join our growing team. This individual should be comfortable with using a variety of digital software (i.e., photoshop, illustrator, etc.). Day to day responsibilities will range from art research and sourcing, admin and digital artwork creation. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual with a keen eye for detail, a passion for art and interior design, and in search of collaboration in a dynamic, innovative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

· Develop original designs for print and digital media based off of creative briefs.

· Create visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers.

· Re-touching, re-sizing and manipulating images (including paintings and photography) based on client guidelines.

· Preparing files and digital prints for production.

· Maintaining and organizing digital image archive.

· Understand the latest trends in design.

· Stay up-to-date with industry trends, developments and tools.

Job Requirements

· 3–4-year Bachelor/Diploma in graphic design.

· Proficiency in: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.

· Highly organized creative with a keen eye for aesthetic and details.

· Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

· Energetic, motivated, positive attitude: able to give and receive constructive feedback.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Bonus

· Print production experience.

· Colour management skills.

· Practicing visual artist (painter, sculptor, etc.)

· Knowledge of pattern and textile design.

· Monday to Friday

o Training period will be conducted at our Head Office M3J 2A7, before transferring to our downtown Toronto location: M6J 2S1.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
