Position Description
Reporting to the Sr.

Manager, WTC Business Development, the Business Development Coordinator provides professional support for partnership growth and promotion of our Trade and Growth Programs for Canadian SMEs.

In addition to assisting in the acquisition partners and potential sponsors, the Coordinator will also be supporting, maintaining, and cultivating the highest levels of engagement from the existing WTC-T and Board networks to grow the profile of the Trade and Growth Programs.


Role Description:


  • Support Sr. Business Development Managers in all partnership related activities
  • Proactively manage relationships with key partners and ensure delivery on our commitments.
  • Maintain contact lists of potential industry partners, program sponsors, and trade mission delegates and ensure CRM records are updated and accurate
  • Perform research on organizations and individuals to find new, viable opportunities for engagement and participation in Trade and Growth Programs
  • Provide coordination support in meeting monthly activity targets in terms of opportunities and new prospect leads, recording in real time all activities into a CRM system
  • Increase the value of current clients/prospects through sales support and referral activities while simultaneously identifying new opportunities
  • Assist in the execution of new marketing initiatives for the Trade and Growth Program
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to broaden the WTC-T network
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing established and enhanced client requests; protecting organization's value by keeping sensitive client and partner information confidential; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments through enhanced role and program development opportunities
  • Communicate and liaise with other Board departments, including the Stakeholder Relations and Trade and Growth Program teams
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations

Your experience includes:


  • A degree in International Business, Public Policy, Economics, or related area
  • Experience in sales support, business development, relationship management type roles
  • Experience communicating crossfunctionally, with ability to articulate value proposition for delegate recruitment and sales
  • Sound judgement and ability in handling matters of a confidential and/or sensitive nature as it relates to companies' internal information
  • Ability to create and manage processes
  • Computer fluency to use a variety of software, i.e., Outlook, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, graphics, project management, etc.
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced, results oriented organization
  • Desire to keep informed on international market developments with the ability to discuss international business
  • Fluency in English and any other language is an asset
  • This role requires a valid passport and Canadian Driver's License, and the ability to travel to international destinations approximately 15% of the time
