Procor Limited manages Canada's largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network across the country. The fleet has grown to include more than 31,000 special purpose tank and freight cars. Procor also operates 25 repair locations servicing the petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers and food markets.

As Plant Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Operations and will ensure the efficient and effective management of the repair facility and repair operations in accordance with Procor's standards, the AAR, Transport Canada, and DOT regulations.
Primary Responsibilities and Deliverables:
- Ensuring employees work safely and that Responsible Care Ethics and processes are in place
- Profit and loss of the shop
- Working and communicating with key customers
- Growth and productivity of the shop operation
- Customer based scheduling
- Reduction of 'Out of Service' time
- Staffing, training and labour relations
- 80/20 techniques and quality improvements of the shop
- Materials Management in accordance with company targets for inventory turns
- Other related responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- Legally able to work in Canada
- University degree or college diploma
- A minimum seven years' experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of safety practices, welding and metal fabrication, and blueprint reading; previous handson experience is an asset
- Experience in the rail industry would be a strong asset
- Proven leadership and team building experience
- Knowledge of 5S techniques and practices, daily management systems, and lean principles
- Dynamic management of complex customer relationships
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
- Strong communication skills: verbal and written; practiced listener
- Demonstrated ability to seek out new ideas, exhibit initiative and be proactive
