School of Technology Department Head_ will be responsible for successful academic delivery, and student satisfaction while setting the highest study and work experience standards for all School of Technology Programs offered by Tamwood Careers in Canada. This position is customer-facing customer facing and requires someone who goes above and beyond for customers. This is a hybrid role that combines teaching and program management responsibilities


This job is offered in either a part-time (Department head only) or Full-time (Department Head and teaching) configuration depending on what suits the applicant.

  • Have at least 2+ years of demonstrated program leading and/or management experience
  • Have portfolio management experience to work with students on their portfolios
  • Be experienced in the field of User Experience Design, User Interface Design, or Web Development
  • Have a passion for technology and its implications.
  • Working knowledge of regular office tools and services such as MS Office and Teams.
  • Have a degree or diploma in UX/UI/Web Dev or any other related field

Responsibilities
You will be overseeing and executing the following but not limited to,

  • Learning materials and curriculum development, management, auditing, and and curriculum improvement for all SOT programs
  • Collaborating with Faculty to guide, design, develop, and managing highvalue Capstone projects for students in Vancouver and Toronto campuses
  • Be able to teach, mentor, and guide the students
  • Organizing guest speakers for Vancouver and Toronto students
  • Participating in student, staff, and organizational meetings when needed
  • Developing and managing student portfolio creation
  • Updating the school database for teachers
  • Carrying out other administrative
- related duties of a program head as required

  • Cooperating and meeting regularly with the coop placement/community relations team

Qualifications:


  • Have a degree or diploma in UX/UI/Web Dev or any other related field
  • Indepth knowledge of technology programs, which will be demonstrated via portfolio, employment, or selfemployment history, project management, lead, and supervisory experience., and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and propose solutions.

Work hours

  • Work schedule can be discussed at the time of the interview to try and find an optimized schedule but in general:
  • Part-time option: Monday to Thursday evenings to support students in class
  • Fulltime option: Monday to Thursday pm to 9.00 pm
