Lift Breakfast Bakery, an all day brunch restaurant brings guests and residents of the Lonsdale community approachable yet elevated breakfast and lunch, with all of the baked goods and fresh bread prepared by Chef-Owner Jane Young and her team.


We are looking for a full-time experienced Cafe Manager who has a passion for coffee and food, while providing the best experience for our loyal customers, and leading others.


The position of Cafe Manager is an essential position that handles the day-to-day operations of our cafe and the execution of our all-day brunch service.

They are responsible for the scheduling, training, and performance of our amazing FOH team, and the general upkeep and cleanliness of our store.


Job Requirements:
Previous experience in a comparable high volume cafe

Ability to lift 50lbs

Ability to stand and work on foot for 8+ hours.

Experience with restaurant POS systems (Touch Bistro preferred)

Serving it Right certification

Reliable transportation to and from North Vancouver


Description:


The Cafe Manager is a role on the Lift Management team who is placed as a liaison between the organizational objects outlined by the Owners and the execution of tasks by the employees of Lift that allow for the achievement of those objectives.

This position is occupied by a person who understands and adheres to the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the company when making decisions in their capacity as Cafe Manager.

Alongside the Owners, the Cafe Manager ensures the fiscal health of the organization through cost analysis and control.

They also maximize efforts to drive revenue, attract new guests and maintain strong relationships with regular guests, ensuring everyone entering the restaurant receives the best experience possible.


Competencies and Responsibilities:

Organizational Objectives:

  • Set operating goals and objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to set recipes.
  • Ensure quality of food and beverage preparation.
  • Observe size of food portions and preparation quantities to minimize waste.
  • Plan and monitor restaurant sales and revenue.
  • Determine and execute operating improvements.

Human Resources Management:

  • Assess staffing requirements and recruit staff when needed.
  • Hire, train and coach staff.
  • Manage staff performance in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Ensure staff know and adhere to established codes of practice.
  • Organize and monitor staff schedules.
  • Maintain employee records on Push Operations

Operations:

  • Prepare and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate restaurant operations during each shift.
  • Monitor adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards in kitchen and restaurant.
  • Keep records of health and safety practices.
  • Ensure compliance with restaurant security procedures.
  • Ensure alcohol regulations are adhered to.
  • Total restaurant receipts and reconcile with sales.
  • Ensure cash management procedures are completed accurately.
  • Check and order supplies of nonfood items.
  • Identify and estimate food and beverage supply requirements and place orders with suppliers.
  • Check quality of deliveries and documentation.
  • Ensure correct storage of supplies.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repairs of equipment and services.

Guest Relations:

  • Interact with all guests
  • Advise customers on food and beverage choices
  • Interact with customers to ensure all inquiries and complaints are handled promptly

Basically all things necessary to operate the restaurant.

Salary information:
$40, plus tips ($25,000- $35,000), plus medical and health benefits.
