McKee McKids Enrichment Centre is looking to hire an RECE for September 2023 for a permanent, part-time split shift position.

The center operates 10 months from September to June, providing quality early learning and care for children from 30 months to 12 years of age.

Required:

• Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• Clear Police Records Check with vulnerable sector screening dated within 6 months of hire date
• Uptodate immunizations and 2step TB test, including proof of full vaccination against COVID19 (or have a valid medical or other Human Rights Coderelated exemption)
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
• Minimum of six months experience working with children
• Ability to work fulltime on PA days, March Break, and Winter Break
• Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily yearround; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold
• Flexible availability from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:15am6:00pm
• Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping, pushing, carrying and pulling
• Experience programming creatively in a playbased, emergent environment, supportive of children and their families
• Experience with the CCEYA, ELECT, How Does Learning Happen and the AQI
• A strong work ethic, positive attitude, caring personality, valuing diversity and social inclusion
• Able to produce assessments, evaluations, portfolios and document using ELECT
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are necessary
• Computer skills necessary including Microsoft Word and app based programs
• Ability to be flexible, show initiative, multitask and work independently and in a team
• Able to work confidently with all age groups from preschool to schoolage
• Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours
• Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and nonvisible dimensions of diversity
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and community partners
