Terra was formed over 10 years ago by a group of exceptional and knowledgeable construction and operation managers that have over 25 years of experience.

The Opportunity:

Terra's Heavy Equipment Operator in our bulk department is experienced, safety-orientated, and communicates well with others.

Terra's ideal future Operator has 3-5 years of previous experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoe, tamper, drum roller, wacker's, and skid steers.

Terra's Heavy Equipment Operator reports to one of our Bulk Superintendents and Vice President of the
Field Division.

**A day in the life of the Heavy Equipment Operator

- roles and responsibilities**:


  • Operate Heavy Equipment safely at all times
  • Use knowledge of trenching, grading and site prep to effectively carry out work
  • Uses a high standard to provide quality service in line with project specifications
  • Carry out independent work when required
  • Carry out work and communicate effectively with various stakeholders such as Labourers, Foremen, Safety Officers, Superintendents when required
  • Ability to report on excavation progress and potential issues as they arise to Foremen and Superintendents
  • Perform daily Heavy Equipment Inspection checks using an app on your phone
  • Other ad hoc duties such as labouring as and when required to support the team and maintain work flow
**Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of previous Heavy Equipment Operating experience
  • Safetyorientated
  • Ability to commute to sites across the Lower Mainland
  • Flexibility and willingness to work at different sites in various locations in any given week
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to do other duties as and when required by the team
  • Can work independently and as part of a team

  • You have minimum 3 years of Heavy Equipment Operating experience
