    Reporting to the Director, Government & Industry Relations, this role will consult on the delivery of ACG's (Allstate Canada Groups) Government and Industry Relations program.


    Specific Accountabilities:


    Develop briefings on key topics to prepare Senior Leadership within the organization for industry/government meetings and positively influence national and regional goals.

    Develop and maintain effective and positive relationships with key government stakeholders and regulatory officials in the five provinces where ACG conducts business.

    Prepare for and represent on various industry committees and advocate for industry and/or ACG position on regional/National level or as a Subject Matter Expert.

    Provide consultation, training, and guidance to business leads participating on industry committees. For example, completing analysis, developing position.
    Support the development of positions and responses to political and regulatory activities/consultations.

    Work with the Director, Government & Industry Relations to anticipate and identify regulatory and public policy issues and develop strategic solutions to effectively advance ACG's goals and put ACG in a position to influence public policy on insurance matters.

    In collaboration with the Director, complete regular and timely reporting of developments that impact ACG's business.
    Monitor and respond to industry issues that have the potential to impact ACG's business.

    Be a contributing member of the Law & Regulations team and support colleagues involved in all aspects of the regulatory landscape.


    Qualifications and Experience:
    Post-secondary degree in a related discipline (e.g. Degree in Law, Public Policy, Business) with 5 to 7 years of relevant career experience
    Strong understanding of the political environment and the implications for the Property and Casualty Industry.
    Experience in regulatory developments, legal issues and risks, market and industry trends and best practices in the P&C industry.
    Demonstrated networking and influencing skills with the ability to motivate change.
    Ability to be proactive, take initiative, multi-task competing priorities and remain focused/organized in a fast-paced environment.

    Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present information in an organized, logical and effective manner to a wide variety of audiences with ability to assess/communicate impact of political development on ACG's business.

    Being fully bilingual in English and French is an asset.
